Grower: Finca “Guayacan” | RosoVasquez. 

Variety: Yellow Colombia and Tabi Region: Curiti, Santander, Colombia 

Harvest: November - March Altitude: 1,875 meters 

Soil: Volcanic loam 

Process: Handpicked, Washed and sundried on patios

BACKGROUND DETAILS 

Roso and Janet Vasquez work their farm, Finca Guayacan with the care and discipline that is characteristic of Santander coffee farmers. Roso believes in community and cooperative work with his neighbors who are like family. He is part of the Rainforest Santander group of farmers and works closely with the FNC rural development program. He offers his farm as a learning space, where the Cenicafé experiments can be put to the test and his fellow coffee farmers can see how they work and what the final results are so they can decide if they want to implement them on their farms. At our last visit to Roso´s Finca Guayacan glimmer of bright yellow cherries atop tall coffee trees caught our eye. The branches were full of them, like golden lemon drops bending the branches under their weight. Roso picked some off and passed them around, inviting us to taste them, their sweetness exploded in our mouth.
