General Info
If you suddenly have a change of heart over the delicious coffee and you would like to get your hands on a different one, just drop us a message and we'll try our best to accommodate you. Please note, we will not be able to amend orders once we have started roasting.
We carefully plan and source each coffee, but availability can change with the season or demand. Occasionally, certain origins may sell out faster than expected or be between harvests.
When that happens, we wait for the next arrival — ensuring every coffee we offer is fresh and worth it.
We source specialty coffee beans from our family farm in El Salvador, along with carefully selected single origin coffees from some of the world’s top coffee-growing regions.
Each coffee is chosen for its unique flavour profile and the care behind how it’s grown — because origin, variety, and processing all shape the final cup.
Our goal is simple: to help you discover coffee you truly enjoy, while bringing exceptional coffees from trusted producers directly to your home in Calgary and across Canada.
Crickle Creek Coffee is not available in retail — by design.
We are a direct-to-consumer and direct-to-business coffee roaster based in Calgary, so you’re in the right place.
This allows us to roast to order in small batches and deliver coffee directly from our roastery to you, rather than having it sit on shelves. The result is fresher coffee, better flavour, and more consistency in every cup.
It also means we can stay connected with you — helping you choose the right coffee, answer your questions, and guide your experience every step of the way.
More than a product — by selling direct, we’ve built a loyal community around a shared love of great coffee.
Yes!
Our coffee bags are made from LDPE #4 (Low-Density Polyethylene), which is recyclable in many communities.
Because recycling programs vary by city, we recommend:
- Checking your local recycling guidelines, or
- Dropping them off when available at a soft-plastic recycling program (often found at grocery stores).
We’re always looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint while still protecting the freshness of your coffee, because great coffee deserves great care, from seed to cup.

We encourage you to make your coffee your own. We all have different personal tastes and preferences and coffee is deeply subjective. Below are some guidelines as a starting point as you adapt your brew to your preference and ultimately, capture the best flavours in your cup.
For starters, try a coffee to water ratio between 1:15 to 1:18. Coffee brewed within that ratio should provide an ideal cup with adequate strength and extraction. For example, If you use a 1:17 ratio, you would brew 15 grms of coffee to 250ml of water (15*17= 255ml) but feel free to adjust depending on your taste.
Espresso
A basic approach would be to use a dose of 18grms and obtain yield between 30 to 34 grms over 30 seconds. Feel free to adjust the variables if your coffee is tasting to strong or too weak.
We are always available to guide you and provide recommendations. Feel free to reach out to us, we’d love to have a chat!
Coffee Beans
Our coffee is roasted to order, so it arrives at your door just as it’s approaching peak flavour.
For the best experience, we recommend enjoying your coffee beans within 4 weeks of roasting.
When stored properly, your coffee remains enjoyable for up to 4 months. After that, the flavour begins to decline and gradually loses what makes it shine.
We recommend brewing your coffee within 4 weeks for best results. Nonetheless, you can expect for coffee to still be optimized for taste for around 6 weeks but should expect it to go stale over time as coffee beans are a natural product that obviously degrades. Coffee will continue to be safe for consumption even after that time but it won’t taste as good as it should, so aim to use it within twelve months from the roast date.
We recommend that you store your beans in an airtight container (our resealable bags would be just fine) and away from sunlight, heat or moisture. Also try to keep away from strong odours
We roast our coffee beans in small batches on our San Franciscan 12 kg roaster in Calgary, ensuring consistency and quality in every batch.
Each coffee is developed with a specific roasting profile — from medium to dark — to bring out its unique flavour and character.
Whether you prefer a balanced, smooth cup or something richer and more full-bodied, our range of roasts is designed to suit different tastes and brewing methods.
We build our blends after roasting to highlight the best qualities of each coffee.
In our medium-dark blends, some beans are kept at a medium roast to preserve their more delicate, nuanced flavours, while others are roasted darker to bring body, depth, and richness.
By combining these profiles, we create a balanced cup that brings together clarity and complexity — the best of both worlds.
