Coffee Advent Calendar Day 7 - Ethiopia Sidamo
Coffee Advent Calendar: Ethiopia, Sidamo
NOTES: Floral, Grapes
ROAST: Medium
Sidamo is one of Ethiopia’s most celebrated coffee regions, known for producing consistently sweet, aromatic coffees with remarkable clarity. Grown in the highlands of southern Ethiopia, Sidamo coffees benefit from nutrient-rich soil, ample rainfall, and elevations well above 1,800 meters. These ideal conditions support slow cherry maturation, allowing the beans to develop deep sweetness and layered complexity.
This natural lot represents the classic Sidamo cup profile: fragrant florals, gentle fruit tones, and a soft, balanced structure. After harvest, ripe cherries are carefully selected and dried on raised beds—an approach that encourages even airflow, preserves natural sugars, and enhances the coffee’s characteristic brightness. The result is a cup that is clean yet expressive, offering delicate sweetness with a silky finish.
In the cup, expect a medium-to-low acidity, mild body, and a touch of tart fruit reminiscent of grapes, wrapped in a gentle floral aroma.
