Coffee from the Mbinga District in Tanzania’s Ruvuma Region comes from high-altitude hills (1,300–2,000 m) with volcanic soils, cool temperatures, and well-defined rainy seasons.  Smallholder farmers—many working just 0.25 to 3 acres—grow Arabica in agroforest settings, often intercropped with bananas and other shade trees.  Because of the terrain and climate, cherry maturation is relatively slow, which helps produce dense, flavorful beans.  

The resulting cup character from Mbinga often leans toward bright but balanced acidity, with tasting notes of chocolate and almond butter
