Day 7 Magical Cup of Coffee
COFFEE: Burundi Long Miles Top Peaberry
NOTES: Grilled Pineapple, Black Tea, Brown Sugar
The best microlots at the Long Miles Coffee Project come together for a very special 14-15 screen size peaberry lot that exemplifies the quality of Burundi's coffees. LMCP prides itself in its ability to trace all lots to specific farms and particular hills, making their coffees highly traceable and allowing LMCP to find unique coffee treasures. Several small farmers delivered their cherries to one of three LMCP washing stations where they were floated and hand-selected, depulped and then double-fermented before washing. Thereafter, parchment coffee is dried up to 20 days on raised beds. The end results is an exquisite cup that is clean and crisp. Expect a smooth body with a medium acidity and a rounded sweetness reminiscing of brown sugar with delicate notes of grilled pineapple and black tea.
