METAD Agricultural Development are thee owners of Hambela Estate.  Hambela traces its beginnings to the mid-1940s when the family matriarch was awarded land in the Guji and Sidama zones by the Ethiopian Emperor.  METAD seeks to strengthen local communities through employment, education through sponsor schools and healthcare for employees.  Furthermore, it boasts the first and only privately owned SCA-certified coffee quality control lab in the country, used to train both local and international coffee professionals.  This coffee is sweet and Jamy with a round body and medium acidity.  A lovely cup with fruity notes of melon, passion fruit and hints of mango.
